Food Sovereignty, Sustainable Farming and the Resistance Against Corporate Land Control

About the Delegation

This delegation will look to explore questions about peace in Colombia: Can peace be maintained without women, Afro-Colombian and Indigenous communities being integrally involved? How do grassroots social movements challenge the corporate model and maintain sovereignty over lands, water, seeds and cultures? Delegates on this trip will explore ways in which Colombian communities are resisting the current military and free trade policies through cultural restoration and leadership of food sovereignty initiatives. This delegation is open and preferable to people who identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.
